What to do when eBay titles are too long?

eBay has a limit on title length, so an item over this limit cannot be published. This error might appear:

Listing titles are limited to 80 characters

This error can be resolved in a few different ways.

Consider editing the original title of the product in the store. Reduce the title to 80 characters and send the item again.

As an alternative, adjust the Listing title field in the Creation Profile. The default value [product_name] takes the exact title from the store. You can replace it with a metafield and add custom text. Adding a Shopify metafield to hold a specific eBay title is one of the possible solutions with this method.

As another option, you can trim the titles automatically. Go to the active Creation Profile and enable the “Automatically truncate long titles” option. Salestio will remove the extra characters automatically.
